YOUR IMPACT
Royal Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking a Utility Inspector. As a Utility Inspector, you will monitor crews and inspect new utility construction to ensure compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with our technical team to identify and resolve issues, conduct routine inspections, and provide detailed reports on the buildout conditions.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily site visits to construction locations for inspection
- Verify compliance with project plans and technical specifications, identifying any deviations from standards and document in daily inspection reports
- Utilizing project software in the field to maintain accurate records of inspection findings, including photos and measurements, generating detailed reports, outlining non-compliance issues, strike incidents, and providing recommended corrective actions
- Communicate findings effectively to construction crews, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of identified issues
- Oversee the restoration of excavated areas, ensuring proper backfilling and surface restoration
CRITERIA FOR JOINING OUR TEAM
Education
- High school diploma required. Relevant and sufficient work experience may be substituted for a high school diploma requirement
Certification and License(s)
- OSHA Certification(s) are a plus
- Valid Drivers’ license
Experience
- Minimum 3 – 7 years’ experience as a construction inspector
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understand underground and aerial cable installation methods, including trenching, boring, and pole attachment procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently apply quality standards
- Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks related to utility installation inspection
- Excellent written and verbal communication to convey inspection findings and recommendations
- Possess a strong understanding of utility construction (underground and aerial), construction best practices, and relevant safety regulations
- Possess general Microsoft Office skills and ability to read/interpret construction designs, blueprints, and navigate mapping software (field use)

Your talent, skills, and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package. Vehicle mileage will be reimbursed at the current Mileage Reimbursement Rate.
