Royal has unique and extensive coastal engineering experience which allows for the successful planning, engineering, design, and implementation of restoration and protection projects, including coastal structures, shoreline protection features, water control structures, marsh creation, levees, pump stations, and more. Our experience includes investigations such as hydraulic and hydrologic models to predict coastal, riverine, and estuarine processes; identification of water levels and tides and their interaction with the environment; geotechnical investigations; structural evaluations; and topographic, hydrographic, and geophysical surveys. We use our expertise to address unique issues relevant to design and construction in the coastal zone including risk analysis, proper selection of materials, constructability issues, cost implications, and environmental impacts.

Our Construction Management team consists of licensed, OSHA-certified engineers and architects Louisiana DOTD-certified inspectors, and certified P6 critical path schedulers. Our team works together to offer construction services that provide our clients with a cost-effective, quality-controlled method of operations. Our construction managers are experienced in a multitude of disciplines including heavy civil, power, environmental, structural, marine, transportation systems, coastal restoration, and general building. Serving as the single point of responsibility, our construction team is engaged from project conception with preconstruction services to working in tandem with our engineering team to offer value engineering that routinely results in lower project cost and shorter durations.

We provide project cost and construction schedule projection reports at the very early stages of project conception to assist clients with budgeting. Construction managers and QA/QC staff then follow through to project completion with plan constructability review, bidding and negotiation, construction management coordination, and project close-out. All project data is updated in real-time through our proprietary RoyalVue platform, which allows on-the-fly customization, eliminates paper copies, and streamlines the entire process.

Royal’s versatility accommodates the owner’s choice of delivery methods including Construction Management at Risk (CMAR), Construction Management as Agent, design-build, task order/IDIQ, design-bid-build, and general contracting services. CMAR has become a popular, innovative delivery method for complex projects and Royal has been involved in several CMAR projects since its rise in utilization. Securing all necessary environmental permits and approvals, as well as documenting compliance, has become increasingly challenging in today’s evolving regulatory environment.
